Course Description
In United States History (1877 to present), we will examine the people, places, and events that propelled the United States into a world leader - culturally, politically, militarily, and economically. We will begin with American settlements expanding into the Great Plains following the Civil War.  We will chronologically study America's past from there into the New Millennium.  
 
We will study the following units: 
 
  • The Wild West
  • Gilded Age (America's Second Industrial Revolution)
  • Populism
  • Imperialism
  • Progressive Era
  • World War I
  • The Jazz Age (1920's)
  • Great Depression
  • World War II
  • Cold War Develops (late 1940's)
  • Age of Eisenhower (1950's)
  • Kennedy Administration (Early 1960's)
  • Johnson Administration (Mid and Late 1960's)
  • Nixon Administration (Early 1970's)
  • Late 70's and Reagan's 1980's 
  • Post-Cold War and New Millennium
